Almost two months ago I was in Ireland for The House of Flynn 2017 Ireland Workshop. It was the trip of a lifetime and I miss it so much. One of my favorite experiences was staying at Ross Castle in Galway during the last few days of the workshop. All of the workshop attendees stayed in the cottages at the castle, and in the evenings we ate together at a long dining room table with a sense of community. In our free time, we explored the expansive grounds and admired the marvelous estate that the McClaughlins have restored since the 1980s (The castle was originally built in 1539 by the O’Flahertys). Of course, this styled shoot made this workshop even better!
Kaitlin and Lauren modeled as the two lovely brides for our Ireland wedding in the courtyard of Ross Castle. Kaitlin wore a blue suit that complemented her eyes, and Lauren wore a vintage-inspired lace BHLDN wedding gown that was positively dreamy. The courtyard is filled with beautiful flowering plants, some of which were even included in the bouquet. One of the most beautiful features is the stone archway leading to the gardens. The abundance of flowers and vine-covered walls create a fairytale backdrop that brings the lush Irish landscape inside the castle walls. I embraced this fairytale scene even further in the last photograph by creating a fantasy image; a panoramic portrait of Lauren in a butterfly garden.
