When I arrived in Iowa this October I had one goal; find a location offering all the Autumn festivities! As a little girl in Pennsylvania, my favorite Fall things were pumpkin patches, corn mazes, and (sometimes haunted) hayrides. I was excited to find Center Grove Orchard, which had everything I remembered and more. I even went apple picking for the first time, but most of the apples were already picked. I did witness a couple people climb the trees to reach the good apples, though! Next year I will definitely live the Center Grove Orchard Lifestyle earlier so I can grab all the good apples and pumpkins, but I am kinda loving how I got to see the pumpkin patch eerily foreshadow Stranger Things 2.
So far I love Autumn in Iowa; the changing leaf colors that I missed living in Florida, the chilly weather (and subsequent good hair days), and of course apple cider everything! The cider donuts at Center Grove Orchard are addictive, and yesterday I went to Brew Coffee House in Pella, IA and discovered their amazing hot apple cider! New morning stop before work? I think yes.
