As the bubbles filled the dance floor during Kaylee and Maya’s first dance, I reflected on what a magical experience their entire wedding day had been. Kaylee and Maya created the beautiful woodland themed wedding decor themselves, and used inspiration from a magazine they saved years ago. They seamlessly merged the venue space of Nyami Nyami River Lodge with the foliage of the surrounding Brevard Zoo wedding location. So many aspects of their wedding were imbued with personal stories and sentiment, including the unique termite-patterned wood found in their parents’ yard, and the wine favors made by Kaylee’s dad. Even the rugby ball “garter” toss, because they both play rugby!
Throughout the day not only did all of the guests rave about their wedding, but also how amazing Kaylee and Maya are and how heartfelt their vows were. No one will soon forget their beautiful ceremony, the great reception, or the cute little animal guests. One of the moments I found most memorable was when the rhinoceroses appeared in the background during their vows. But I bet everyone thinks of their dog, Arya. Arya was the ring-bearer, and stole everyone’s hearts walking down the aisle in a dress!
